The Maze Runner

This is an adaptation of the bestselling Young Adult dystopian science fiction novel of the same name. Unlike many the other movie adaptations of YA dystopian sci-fi books which have been made recently, this one has the feel of a thriller. There is much more of a mystery component - why are these kids in this bizarre place? What's in the maze?
The film is well acted and quite well done visually. The maze feels very solid, though this may have more than a little to do with the IMAX sound system, which makes sliding wall segments very tactile indeed.
It does what it set out to do very well. Fans of sci-fi, YA, and/or thrillers should like it.
